Think Paw Studios

Why the name ‘think paw’ ?

There are marvels in nature from which artists take inspiration. From the flight of an eagle to the  leap of a whale, from the camouflage of a lizard to the nesting of a weaver bird. God’s teaching through his creation is unparalleled. Out of all art forms in nature, the most inspiring one I found is the remarkable feline. A unique blend of beauty, elegance, speed and skill. Mankind has always been awed by the cat family. A creature so splendid in its adaptability, their flexing into multiple roles with ease, caught my attention as a child. A stealth chiseled for those dashes and plunges. A Houdini of escaping danger and reappearing to safety. The ability to puff up and scare away mighty enemies. The unbelievable sense of hearing and sight. Cats are an amalgamation of natural talent and tactics.

My days with pet cats were the ones that made me a better Artist, which may sound surprising to many, but it’s how I perceive these little wonders. Cats only made me wonder, sigh or tear up owing to their qualities I imbibe today at work.

Interestingly, what always caught my attention are the front paws of cats. The word paw may just sound so animal, but the paw of a cat is an institution in itself. So efficiently used for its spontaneous roles, the paw of a cat can not be defined in one word.

When hunger strikes, the cat’s paw is a retracting clawed weapon that works within milliseconds. By the time the prey realizes where it is , the cat’s paw has done its job, marking the cat in the animal kingdom as one of the fastest hunters.

When things get down and dirty, cats are master cleaners of themselves. Their paws turn into squeaky cleaners right from the farthest of their heads to their unreachable necks. If you didn’t know who are the self hygiene freaks of nature, now you know.

Who needs a shovel ? Cats do not, for sure. Well it may sound awkward but even those humans who leave behind their nature’s call on display must learn from the paw of a cat. Let’s bury the hatchet on this for now. Admit it, sanitation standards, cats get the upper paw.

When Momma cat needs to discipline her kittens, her paws are now soft whackers. Not too soft, not too hard, but just the right thrust to bring those naughty ones back to their senses. How can we unsee those same paws turn into cuddly arms wrapping around loved ones while getting cozy and dozy.

Dogs may love to fetch balls, but when you see a cat dribble a ball with its paws, they have already won the game. With the right mood to play, those front limbs turn from paws to penalty kickers in no time. I may differ with the ruthless proverb about the curiosity of the cat, but sure can bet those paws are tool kits of testers, tasters, detectors, teasers and pokers. These skills may not kill the cat but may surely save them 9 times more, paradoxically proving the other proverb about cats to be true.

With such diverse abilities carried out with near perfection, every role of the paw is like a master stroke of an artist’s brush. Building up to an artwork so inspiring, which only leaves me to praise the maker of all that exists. The cat’s paw made me think. Think of how great the creator of the created is. Think of how everything that is created has a purpose to serve. Think of how true purpose aligns sincere intentions. And that’s the story of how I chose the name of my company,
